... celebrating a multicultural exchange with the Spanish Culture

Argentinean Tango Film Festival at Race and Rhythm Space 20th, 24th and 25th September



We are delighted about having being selected the UK's venue for the screening of the first ever international Argentinean Tango short Film Festival.

Cinefilia Tanguera is a Short-Film Event on the theme of Tango.Cinefilia Tanguera and Race and Rhythm DT will collaborate in the screening of International Argentinean Tango Short Film Festival.

During the Festival at Race and Rhythm Space, we'll be able to enjoy the visions of the works of many artists coming from different countries from all over the world. The short works include video-dance, animation,fiction and documentary.

From the over 16 hours of film available we have selected 3 x 90 minute slots of short films (3-40 min each) that will be showed along 3 days in our space.

Following the screening we will have the collaboration of 10-20 artist per night including Flamenco, Argentinean Tango and Contemporary dance performances followed by live music and a jam session for everyone to join dancing, playing and/or singing!!

There will be tapas available and full licensed bar open.

DAY 1 SUNDAY 2OTH SEPTEMBER

(The videos have English subtitles and there will be a 3 minute break between videos to allow audiences to exchange impressions of each video and meeting each others)

Combined Argentinean Tango and Flamenco dance and percussion training for professional dancers of other backgrounds



Miriam Faura and Julian Marcelo Elizari will be running a unique program that will give the opportunity to 20 advanced and professional dancers to learn Argentinean Tango and Flamenco dance and percussion technique. Participants will perform at the Argentinean Tango Short Film Festival with a piece created during the week.
Courses are 6-8 hours a day for five days Mon- Fri and one day performance.

Week 1

13th-18th September 2009 with performance on 20th September.

Week 2

21st-25th September 2009 with performance on 25th September.

FLAMENCO'S DIVERSITY JAM SESSION SUNDAY 22nd FEBRUARY FROM 19.30pm

A jam session where Flamenco musicians and musicians from other background will jam to create a diverse and multi-cultural night for all of us to enjoy listening, playing, dancing or any other way you might choose to participate.

The jam will be leaded by Pablo Dominguez and Ruben Perez and we will have live music from 19.30pm

NOCHE DE FERIA

During 2005 Noche de Feria organised regular Sunday night Flamenco events. Each event hosted workshops, Spanish traditional 'Tapas' and Flamenco performances with well-known Flamenco artists based in the UK given the opportunity to perform in celebration of Spanish culture in London.

Noche De Feria Events present "Tacones Lejanos", a Flamenco Dance Company that performs in different events around the UK with the Artistic Direction of Miriam Faura.

"Tacones Lejanos" performances are available for Corporate events, Festivals, Special Events, Theatre. The number of artists involved varies according to the needs of each event, starting with a minimum of four artists.

Our new show TEMPERAMENTO blends Contemporary and Traditional Flamenco with Argentinean Tango.

Noche de Feria organizes intensive dance workshops, runs regular classes and is also available for private classes.

Noche de Feria's distinctive courses are the Flamenco Marathons: intensive and creative weekends that include Contemporary technique,choreography and performance opportunities.

At present Noche de Feria has regular Flamenco dance workshops for Professional dancers from other dance backgrounds.

Race and Rhythm collaborates with other companies in unique events that combine 3 of the the most exiting Latin dances: Salsa, Tango and Flamenco at Race and Rhythm's Dance Space in Tufnel Park, North Lodon.

This is a large dance space above The Boston pub, directly opposite Tufnell Park underground station. The entrance is on Dartmouth Park Hill.

Tufnell Park station is on the Northern line, two stops north of Camden Town. You can also travel by bus, on routes 134 and 390 (both 24-hour service, with buses running every 15 minutes during the night), route 4 and night bus N20.

FLAMENCO MARATHONS (next date and workshop leaders to be confirmed)



The International Flamenco and Creative Dance Marathon is a very intensive weekend where you will learn and/or improve your Flamenco dance technique with two creative and very experienced Dance Leaders.

The course will be divided in two groups:

1) Beginners-intermediate and

2) Intermediate-advanced.

They will learn feet and body technique and some Choreography routines created by the Leaders.

Each day will end up with a two-hour workshop where the participants will create their own dance, following the tasks and directions of the workshop leaders.

At the end of the course, on Sunday evening the participants will be able to perform in front of an audience with professional Flamenco artists.
